According to World Obesity Foundation, Almost 5 million children under 5 years are expected to be Obese in Pakistan by the year 2030, and Almost 250 million School-Going Children will be classified as Obese by the year 2030, currently that are 158 million that fall in this category.
So What is Obesity?
According to WHO" World Heath Organization" It is defined as Abnormal or Excessive Fat Accumulation that presents as a risk to health, or
It is also defined as a person having a BMI "Body Mass Index" over 30 , You Can Easily Calculate your BMI by This Formula = Kg/m^2
Obesity is also known as the mother of All Diseases as it is the major Risk factor for Diseases like
-Diabetes
-Stroke
-Heart Failure
-Gall Stones
-Osteoarthritis
-Gout
-Polycystic Ovarian Disease
-Sleep Apnea
-Asthma
and list Goes on and On and On! but
what does Screen time have to do with all this ?

Its the Habit that Forms from the very start , that will decide our future and these children are going to take over the country in the upcoming years, as Pakistan is Considered as Developing Country and Obesity is mainly considered as a problem of Developed countries, its the direction towards which our generation is moving.
There is a consensus being taken on 18th Nov 2019 which stated that Obesity and Addiction are similar , showing overlap in Cognition & Neural Activity.
This Obesity is Not just caused by children Eating More Processed food, its also the lack of activity that has taken over With it, by the availability of Electronic devices to children at the very young age causing them to spent more time on these devices rather than going out and perform physical activities and becoming more active.This practice also leads to consumption of more processed food and the vicious circle never stops.
as a recent research was published in Journals of PLoS ONE New York conducted on 32000 children, Finding out that
"Kids who are spending time in front of electronic devices are consuming more sugar, sweetened beverages, and more caffeinated Beverages than kids who are not focused on screens"
Its a Chain Reaction that has started among us, Electronic Devices leading to less physical activity, More Processed food consumption and Development of Obesity , Its not even its end, Its overuse leads to Mental Health issues i,e Depression, Schizophrenia, Hallucinations and Decreased Focus.
But These Electronic Devices are the need for Modernization ?
Yes It is, But there is a certain limit to it, Children under 5 years of age should be Dealt mostly by parents not just keeping them busy by the screens. after the age of 5 years Child should be allowed to use Electronic devices to a certain limits along with Physical Games i.e Football, Basket Ball, Badminton,
But what Makes Difference Minimizing and Mitigating Screen Time ? and How it is related to obesity ?
"Because there are no proven benefits of media exposure for infants and toddlers and some known developmental risks and Recent Researches on Neurosurgery has found out that Children's Brain on Screen time looks a lot like Children's Brain on Cocaine, it is also known to have increased Dopmaine Surges inside the Brain leading to Increased Addictive Behaviours i,e In future consuming Amphetamine, Morphine, Nicotine and Becoming Obese
As The Day of 26th November was celebrated as Anti-Obesity Day, Parents are counselled to minimize young children's Screen time as minimizing it leaves more time for face to face interactions, which is how young children best. avoid processed food and prefer natual diets and homemade foods to prevent obesity and Play Physical Games with your children rather them giving up the Devices to keep them as well as yourself Busy! with no advantage at all!
