Hello Everyone, Hope You Guys are Holding Up Great In this Pandemic,

If you've come here to read this post it Means Either you're seeking A guide as a fresher or repeater for FCPS Part 1, And There are multiple study plans that vary according to personalities! But I think I Should Share My Experience About How Almighty Helped me Clear FCPS-1 In 1st Attempt in July 2020.

Before Getting into the preparation I would like to tell that I wasn't so sure about giving this exam because After Completing My Housejob I was planning for September attempt so I took it lightly and Rested for Quite a while and A Breaking News came that CPSP (College of Physicians And Surgeons Pakistan) has announced a date of 15th June 2020 For the exam, at that time I only had 24-25 days in hand! And I thought so That I won't be able to clear that in such a short sentence, But Luckily thanks to my seniors that Said 

"Bhai Maidan main Utar Jo hua dekha jaega" 

It was a matter of proper Guidance because of Which I knocked it out of the park! and 25 days was a really short time!

As the title suggests that It was cleared in 45 days is as That 15th June Test was postponed due to COVID-19 Till 6th July 2020. so That sums up our 45 days of preparation.

So Here is HOW I cleared FCPS-1 in 45 Days

Yes, Majority of times You may get lucky in terms of easy or difficult shifts but I was not alone in this War, Allah Almighty was with me along with the My friends and Seniors Helped me get through this and I would really love to thank them all Before starting.

Initially, Due to shortage of time, I had to prioritize The subjects that were important for Me as I cleared in Medicine & Allied but My friends who Cleared In Surgery or associated fields also Followed the same Priorities

and I am going to explain how to do course Along with Plan and Later I'll summarize it

So Firstly I started With Physiology from BRS

Why BRS & Why Physio in the very Start? 

The Answer is Quite Simple! Firstly it easy and Secondly It will help you Recall all the basic concepts and Will help you In Generating Rythm, So With The Chapters, I also Did Physiology from Medicall App, As it helped Me get through The Chapters Strongly and precisely, So Here is the First hint! 
 
You Can Always select Only one book of the Two! Either Medicall or Rabia Ali, Don't get too haphazard by reading both and spending more time with no advantage at all! Yes, they contain mistakes and Erratas are Available for Rabia and Medicall Team is working on theirs as well.


You'll start Doing Physio With BCQs of the same chapter from either Medicall or Rabia It surely will take time but as I had 45 days I went All out!


There Are Somethings that Will Run along with your Course?

Yes Not only you'll do a chapter with BCQs but You have a lot of add ons to deal with and They are

RAFIULLAH GOLDEN FILES: At least 2 papers a Day
RAFIULLAH GOLDEN POINTS(Special Files): at least 10 points a day
TANVEER NOTES: At Least Half Session a day if not then 100 points minimum

Yes, It sounds a lot! But Trust me It is only tough for Few days and Worth it! Why is it so? Because At first You'll have a Hard time dealing with the BCQs but as you'll get into the flow, What will happen, You'll be encountering the same BCQS in Rafiullah, Sk, Tanveer notes, MEdicall or Rabia Ali !! 

Trust me You'll do just fine, I used to do it in a day! It was exhausting but Trust me Its worth it. Remember this plan is Constant no matter what..! Even if you've completed one Book, Try to give more time to other books!

You  can Always Use SK instead of Rafiullah, I am suggesting that because I did from Rafiullah but Always remember choose only one Book Either RAFIULLAH or SK 

So After Completing BRS Physio with BCQS I went Head to Head with Anatomy!

Anatomy from SNELL REVIEW!

Yes, And I mean Snell Review not official Snell, Trust me Its more than Enough for Any Surgery or Medicine Guy, I gave Them The Thorough Reads but in Anatomy, I Did BCQs from Rabia Ali because At that Time I had that book in hand And its quite easy to recall from books rather than apps but you can also use Medicall instead

What's the whole point? Its to learn and remember, Do One region and Follow that with BCQ books You'll Do Great, at least I did Alhamdulliah.

Always Remember the constant Pattern that I mentioned with the Course!

Rafiullah 2 Golden Files or SK, 10 points from Rafiullah start and Tanveer Half Session at least per Day That Will Remain Constant No matter what

General Pathology from BRS

Well Physiology and Pathology are Both Quite interesting subjects to deal with and I must Say Give your time to Patho thoroughly, it is always going to benefit you! I didn't do Rabia Ali or Medicall with it because of the Shortage of Time! Luckily I survived but If Someone asks me suggestion about Should I Add one book, the Answer is always Going to be YES! Well because of Shortage of time I did Physio and Pathology from ASIM & SHOAIB (Without Errata) and Yes it did help me! 

My suggestion is Whenever you Do ASIM & SHOAIB, never ever change its key! I've heard it from seniors and Seniors Don't Lie :P 

 Special Pathology from First AID

There were Three School of thoughts, some say Pathoma is better, some say BRS and Some Say First Aid, but always Remember CPSP loves First Aid (Step 1) and Most of the time key matches the answers of First Aid, So I Hook up with FA and It Seriously Paid off, Not only did FA saved my time but it was Quite Precise and allowed me to Read extra stuff as well like Other minor Subjects, so For Special Patho 

Go for FA then Either Rabia or Medicall (that I Couldn't Do) and If time allows add Asim & Shoaib As well

Just a reminder the pattern remains same, Golden Files, Tanveer Session and Rafiulllah Points

Neuroanatomy from KAPLAN

well, Neuroanatomy may sound like A big Mountain trust It ain't, and if you think you can survive without it! no, you Won't! Only in this case what I did was stop all the BCQs and solely focused on it And trust I accept It would be hard to believe but I completed it in 2 days! and It won't need more than 3 days at max if you read it the right Way!

No BCQs Book I did with it! Just Gave it a thorough read and Went to other regions


Embryology, Histology from FA

Yes! Sounds Weird but True, FA is a full-time package! Many people Suggested me to Do High Yield for histo and Embryo but I stuck with FA because there are going to be only 2 3 BCQs from Histology and Embryology that If combined with Rabia Is More than Enough!

But Still, if time allows u, you can still Prefer HIGH YEILD, it's totally your preference


Pharmacology from FA

Pharmacology is that Subject that Even after a lot of practice You ain't gonna master it! So Don't panic, Read FA thoroughly and trust me every portion matters! I did from FA and combined it with the BCQS from Asim and Shoaib Pharmacology from Surgery and Medicine Books and They were worth it!

Still, Medicall and Rabia Ali option are On! Time Didn't Allow me to but If you have time then Go for it and The routine of Golden Files, Rafiullah points and Tanveer Sessions remains constant

Microbiology from FA

Well FA Can be called as a major book in FCPS-1 and you can already tell Why!
 
Many people do Prefer Kaplan over it and It's their choice but majority Reads it from First Aid and I guess that's more than enough, You want to get a cherry on top? Read it also from Tanveer notes, it does have cool mnemonics and Make sure you have a nice Grip on Micro it's quite important and comes quite frequently in Exams.

Biochemistry From FA

Well Well, Biochemistry was the most Hated Subject of my life and trust me, it doesn't come that much, you want to do it? do it from FA! I myself totally Skipped it and Solely did MEDICALL BCQS and Trust me 3 questions came from it, Continue the constant routine no matter what!


Let us summarize a bit 

Physio=                 BRS = 7 Days
Anatomy=             Snell= 6 Days
Patho General=     BRS=  6 Days
Special Patho=      FA=     9 Days
Pharmacology=     FA=     1 Day
Microbiology=      FA=     2 Days
Neuroanatomy=    Kaplan=2 Days(You can adjust times according to you its just what I did as need of Circumstances)
Biochem=             FA=       1day
Embryology was done along with Patho but Add 2days
Histo was done along with Course

Yes, These are 36Days and In those 36 Days what was covered? Whole course?  Yes! , Tanveer sessions? Yes! Rafiullah points? Almost! and Golden Files Yes! 


Now, What are the Polishing Points?

I Tried to Complete Asim and Shoaib but unfortunately, that Didn't come much in exams! What will be my suggestion? 
*Do Those Regions Twice that you feel you're weak in! 
* DO CPSP DEMO QUESTIONS WITH NO CHANGE IN KEY
*REVISE TANVEER NOTES
*REVISE GOLDEN FILES
*DO MATHEMATICS SECTION FROM TANVEER
*DO ETHICS SECTION FROM TANVEER

as the day of Exam was close, the pressure went Sky high! try not to get yourself involved in that controversial BCQS! Don't find answers on Google they are mostly misleading! remain active on Facebook groups many helping People are there! 



Another Cool Strategy?

If I would have had time to read more, What would I've done? the answers are I would have read SK & KIM last days before Doing chapter then Medicall and Rabia Ali and then same pattern! Sorry But SK and Kim do have mistakes so Keep your eyes sharp while doing that As mistakes are not that much and They've put in a great effort!

Sorry, I am totally Unaware about Attempts regarding Radiology, Gynecology and Anesthesia? But I guess there is only Addition of books and the Base platform remains the same!

Why I've Written this? Just to tell You that If Allah helped me do it in just 45 days! Then Everything is Possible & If you were not able to clear the exam, stop for a while, Get Refreshed, Pull yourselves up and Try again! It's your war no one Can stop you :) and Its ok ! its just an exam not the end of the world shake it off! I've Mentioned these 45 days because If you have less time, it's ok! You can still pull it off! you just need to put in some extra efforts :)

How was the Exam?

it was not 90% past, I was in the evening shift of 6th July 2020. Or maybe I Didn't read enough past but What I Felt was! If your sleep is not complete, If you haven't eaten enough and if you've studied one night before the exam you are going to Struggle! 4 hours are exhausting and full of pressure so Always make sure you take ur time in your own way!

There were two papers, Paper I which contained 100 Questions with 120minutes so There is ample amount of time, Make sure you read A bcq's Stem and options 3 times even if it's past!! you can Skip a question only once and All must be attempted

After Paper-I you get a half-hour rest! Don't go out and Discuss the BCQs! Screw it, get yourself together! Drink something or eat, Enjoy nature! and Forget what has been done in Paper I, Focus on Paper II

What is the marking system? Who cares? Try to get every answer right in both papers! And once Done, Allah is the one who'll decide the fate!

Allah kisi ko uske naseeb se na kum deta hai na ziada so Trust in HIM matters alot
